One of our engineers will be happy to assist in the fine tuning of the Backup Genie software and ensure that all the required data is marked for backup. The initial installation however will often be done immediately via the Internet - Now that you've decided you don't want to have to worry about backups - why should you have to wait. We're familiar enough with Murphy's Law to know that this would be the time that something happens. With the online installation we can ensure you have immediate protection. We'll then arrange a personal visit to finalise some details and answer any usage questions that come up. We also want to meet you personally - after all we're planning to provide a great service to you for a long time - and distance relationships can be difficult.


With Shercom's Backup Genie your most important documents are safe from disaster. The software makes a copy of the files, encrypts them and stores them on our server - away from harm. This harm includes not just the obvious ones like fire and flood - but what happens if someone steals your PC WITH the backup tapes inside - or worse a disgruntled employee takes out revenge on your data.

The Genie has a built in scheduler so that backups can be run automatically whenever you choose. At the time chosen the Genie compresses and encrypts any changes you have made and transmits them to our main datacenter. For large files this can mean big savings - only the changes need to be transferred. If backup files are required the Genie can be used to recover them - the magic being that even old versions can be recovered. No more panic when the sales overview document was changed at some stage and no one knows when.
